2-D Polygons and Pinball Machines
Students were asked to use tangrams to help them design a pinball machine that included the seven tangram shapes, symmetry, and new shapes created by combining polygons. They were also asked to track their expenses on a budget sheet to ensure that the creation of their pinball machine was less that $750. Students summarized their learning by elaborating on their pinball machine design, how it works, and the way they figured out the cost to create it.
