## Cartooning Around

Students were asked to display their humor, creativity, and logical thinking in order to help other students understand the relationship between multiplication and division. They had to develop a comic strip that included humor, characters, a problem and a solution, clear explanation, and accurate math thinking.

## Mission To Mars Work Examples

**Students were asked to consider the following:**

On Mars, a year is 687 days, but our calendar is based on a 365-day year. What should we do?

If Mars had a 12-month year, about how many days would there be per month?

If each month were 4 weeks long, how many days would there be in a week?

They were then asked to create their own Marian calendar and plan a presentation or proposal explaining why their option is the most reasonable and should be adopted as the standard Martian calendar. These are their products.
